Applied Science Index (formerly named Applied Science & Technology Index) provides citations to articles about applied mathematics, artificial intelligence, chemical engineering, communication & information technology, computer databases & software, biomedical materials, environmental engineering, food & food industry, physics, robotics, transportation, and many more.

Periodical coverage includes trade and industrial publications, journals, buyers' guides, directories, and conference proceedings.


Art Index
(Trial period: until 30 November 2005)


Art Index covers citations to articles about advertising art, architecture and architectural history, art history, computers in art, fashion design, graphic arts, industrial design, motion pictures, painting, photography, television, etc.

Periodical coverage includes English-language periodicals, yearbooks, and museum bulletins, as well as periodicals published in French, Italian, German, Japanese, Spanish, Dutch, and Swedish. This database also indexes reproductions of works of art that appear in indexed periodicals.



Art Museum Image Gallery
(Trial period: until 30 November 2005)


Art Museum Image Gallery is an online collection of quality digital documentation of works of art from around the world. Works from major European, American, and Canadian artists in the collections of member museums are included. Cultures and time periods represented range from contemporary art, Native American and Inuit art, to ancient Greek, Roman, and Egyptian works, along with Japanese and Chinese works. The database documents over 90,000 art works.



Author Plus Pro

(Trial period: until 31 December 2005)


With Author Plus, teachers can publish online activities (e.g., multimedia interactive reading, speaking, writing, and vocabulary activities) directly to their students. The program includes ten activity types including drag and drop, quiz and countdown, where learners can reconstruct a text.

Linguistics Abstracts Online
(Trial period: until 30 November 2005)

Linguistics Abstracts Online is a quality abstracts database containing over 33,000 abstracts from over 400 leading linguistics journals. On top of English journals, it also includes papers from several European, Chinese, and Pacific Asian journals with bilingual abstracts - original language and English language.



Tense Buster Online
(Trial period: until 31 December 2005)

Tense Buster teaches students 29 key grammar areas from some/any to phrasal verbs. Each unit begins with a dialogue, newspaper article, or radio broadcast where users can learn how grammar works, and ends with testing activities with answers provided.

Tense Buster has been officially adopted by the British Council and Ministries of Education in many countries including Spain, Canada, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates.
