The Book Culture Club held its 13th event in the Library on the evening of February 8.  After an opening remark by Dr. Lo Wai Luk, renowned creative writer, Associate Professor Wu Yin Ching, gave a talk on her recent publication “四十一雙眼睛,” how the book came to fruition by 41 of her students and inspired young people to take part in creative writing.  Alumni, authors and editors of the book, Miss Chan Yi and Mr. Yu Lung-kit, were the guest speakers and shared with the audience how they took the first steps to write, what things in daily life meant to their literary works and what kept them passionate about writing.

Miss Wong Sum Ling, an HKBU alumnus, of Breakthrough Ltd., was invited to talk about her job as publisher and how she had to make business decisions when choosing creative works for potential publication.  Being an author herself, she also described the two-year writing process that she had been through and what she had come to realize as author.

The event was well attended and the Library was fully packed, with over 120 students, staff and faculty members of HKBU, secondary school teachers and students as well as the general public from the community.
