The Group Viewing (GV) Rooms and Multi-Purpose (MP) Room are open for booking by students or teaching staff for the use of audio-visual materials or group study. They may be booked for a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 6 users in the GV Room, and up to 15 users in the MP Room. The overhead projector and the screen in the MP Room are for staff use only, students should not turn on them without permission from Library staff.
All bookings should be done online.
Users of the same group may use the room once a day and a maximum of 3 times a week.
Booking is limited to 0.5 - 2.5 hours on one day.
The group should not occupy the room after booking time when there are walk-in users. They have to leave upon request by Library staff.
Walk-in users may book the room at counter on condition that the rooms are available.
Check In / Check Out
Eligible users should leave their student cards at the counter upon check in.
Library staff reserves the right to reassign the rooms to other users if the group do not show up 15 minutes after the booking time.
Users are expected to use audio-visual materials loaned from the Library. Viewing of personal materials must be for educational purposes and should be shown to counter staff upon check-in. Viewing pirated materials is prohibited.
Please turn off the lights and AV equipment after use.
Please collect your student cards at counter before you leave.
Conduct of Users
Users that misuse the rooms, for example by eating, drinking, making excessive noise, etc., will have their details recorded, and the Library will take appropriate follow-up action according to the User Behaviour Policy.
Users are responsible for keeping the rooms in a neat and orderly condition.
Do not leave any valuables unattended. The Library is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal items.
Any items left after vacating the rooms will be removed without prior notice.
The Library reserves the right to inspect the rooms even if it is in use.
Users are required to observe the Library regulations other than the above terms.
