Writer-in-Residence 2011: Mr. Lo Yi-chin's Manuscript & Book Donation Ceremony
2011年駐校作家駱以軍手稿及書籍捐贈典禮

On Friday 11th March the Library held a ceremony to honour this year’s IWW Writer-In-Residence, Mr. Lo Yi-chin.

Mr. Lo Yi-chin graciously donated three books, including one collection of poetry and two novels, to HKBU Library. Mr. Lo has strong affection for his publications, regarding them as his children. His three works donated to the Library represent his writings at different stages. 500 copies of the poems in The Story of Abandonment 《棄的故事》 were published with his father’s savings. This copy is his last remaining personal copy. His book Wife, Dream, Dog 《妻夢狗》 was written when he was in a difficult financial situation. This title is also out of print in Taiwan. Recalling the third donated work, the author noted that one chapter of the novel 《我未來次子關於我的回憶》 was written in a coffee shop on Hollywood Road, when he was invited to Hong Kong as one of the IWW writers back in 2004. As well as sharing insights on the creation of all three works, Mr. Lo had a conversation with Chinese literature students and answered questions on how writers view their own creative works and how writers know a work is complete.
