Food Studies Online Food studies is a relatively new field, but its importance is felt in many major disciplines. The Library is currently trialing Food Studies Online, which contains a wealth of information about how food shapes and defines people's lives, as seen through the eyes of philosophers, historians, scientists, sociologists, artists, anthropologists, activists, physicists, psychologists, chefs, and other important researchers.
The database includes a mix of video, ephemera, photographs, archives, and published monographs. Content types include cookbooks, menus, recipe books, marketing pamphlets, and posters.
The implications of food studies definitely reach far beyond what is consumed at the dinner table!
Trial access will expire on 31 March, 2016.
