British Library Newspapers is a joint effort by the British Library and Gale to make available digitized versions of important 19th century British newspapers.
A total of 71 titles have been selected for Parts I and II, and over three million newspaper pages are available.
The entire database is full-text searchable.This collection has potential applications in the digital humanities, and supports scholarship in history, literature, sociology, religion, and more.
Content has been carefully indexed which allows precise searching and browsing various criteria (e.g. images)
