The Globe and Mail is Canada’s largest circulation national newspaper. This generally conservative publication is considered to be the nation’s newspaper of record. This archive includes full images of the newspaper from its inaugural 1844 issue up until 2014.
The Toronto Star is Canada’s highest circulation newspaper. Generally considered to be the most leftwing of Canada’s major newspapers, it provides an excellent historical counterpoint to The Globe and Mail. The archive begin in 1894 (two years after the newspaper’s founding) and continues through 2013.
