Given the latest developments of the COVID-19 outbreak in Hong Kong, reductions have been made to Library service levels. These arrangements will be in place until further notice.
The Main Library will open with reduced opening hours and no counter services.
Opening hours of the Main Library (except for Level 2) will be as follows:
Mondays-Fridays: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Saturdays: 12:00 noon – 4:00 pm
Sundays & Public Holidays: Closed
The Chinese Medicine Library and the Shek Mun Campus Library remain closed.
Please remember that users are required to wear a mask at all times in the Library. Some seating facilities, including reading tables and PC workstations, are suspended for increasing seat spacing. The Academic Commons on Level 2 is closed, and seating has been reduced at study areas and computer workstations on Levels 3-7. Users should not occupy any place that has been designated with a red “X”.
No counter services will be provided. If you have urgent need of services normally provided at the counter, please contact the Circulation and Interlibrary Loan Section by email (email@example.com) and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
At the Main Library, a self-checkout service is provided for all loanable materials on the shelves (including multimedia materials).
The HKALL service is suspended.
Overdue fines for materials due on or after 25 Jan 2020 will be waived until further notice. Items ready for pick up will similarly be held until further notice.
Adobe is providing temporary at-home access to Adobe Creative Cloud until 31 May 2020 for HKBU UGC-funded students at no additional cost. This provision is based on the current library’s subscription to the software. Interested students please submit their request via this online form (SSO protected).
The opening arrangements for the Library are under constant review. Please check the Library website for the latest announcement before visiting the Library.
For real-time assistance with any research enquiries, please make use of our online services including WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. We now also offer a Virtual Information Desk on weekdays between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
