RVP Newsletter Issue 14 (February 2018) University Rankings: How to increase citations?

Late last year, HKUST invited Ruth Pagell (Emeritus Faculty Librarian, Emory University) to present on the topic of the world university rankings. She gave some advice on how to increase citations, which included recommendations to:

  1. Deposit work in open repositories (e.g. HKBU Institutional Repository)
  2. Register for identifier numbers (e.g. ORCID)
