What kind of help can I get through Ask a Librarian?
Information on HKBU Library resources, services, and facilities
Recommendations on which library resources to use
Help with formulating search strategies
Help with simple and in-depth research questions (a longer response time may be required for in-depth questions, and a face-to-face research consultation may be arranged if necessary)
Who can use the service?
Ask a Librarian is intended primarily for the students, faculty, staff, and affiliates of the University.
For users from outside the HKBU community, only basic factual information or referral services can be provided.
When will I receive a response?
Enquiries will be acknowledged within 24 hours (except on Friday evenings, weekends, and public holidays), with most questions being answered at that time.
Enquiries involving in-depth research questions will be answered within 48 hours, and/or a face-to-face appointment may be arranged for a detailed discussion.
Who will respond to my enquiries?
Enquiries are handled by staff of the Library's Information Services Section. When appropriate, enquiries will be referred to the Section's professional librarians or to other Library colleagues.
