The revitalization of the School of Chinese Medicine (SCM) building aims to showcase SCM’s advancement in Chinese medicine, research achievement and development of translational studies. As a part of the revitalization, the renovation project of the 2nd floor of the Jockey Club Chinese Medicine Building commenced in July 2025, necessitating the closure of the Chinese Medicine Library in June. All the CML collections and staff have been relocated to the Main Library (AML). It is expected that the CML will be reopened on 11 May 2026.

This webpage will provide information related to the renovation project and will be updated regularly. Thank you for your attention and understanding during this special period!

Please proceed with borrowing and returning services at the User Service Counter on the Level 3 of the Main Library from July 2025.

News

• 2025-6-16：The Chinese Medicine Library (CML) has been closed from 16 June 2025. The CML collections are being packed and relocated to the Main Library. The CML collections will be temporarily inaccessible from 16 June to 7 July 2025.
• 2025-7-8 ：The CML collections can be accessible at L4 of the Main Library from 8 July 2025.
• 2026-4-20 : The CML collections will be moved back to the SCM building from 20 April to 24 April 2026. The CML collections will be temporarily inaccessible during the move.
• 2026-4-25 : Preparation for the reopen of the new CML from 25 April to 10 May 2026. To borrow CML items during this period, you need to place a request via the Library’s OneSearch system and pick up at the AML User Service Counter.
• 2026-5-11 : CML reopens and library services resume at 2/F, Jockey Club School of Chinese Medicine Building.

How Will This Affect You?

• No access to Level 2 of the SCM Building: The entire Level 2 of the SCM Building will be closed to all users until renovations are completed.

• Collection Relocation: CML’s collection will relocate to CML. Collections are not available during relocation process.
• If you want to borrow CML collections after 27 April, please submit request via OneSearch.

How to borrow stitched books?

Users who wish to borrow stitched books may reserve online via OneSearch. Stitched books are not available from 20 – 24 April, 2026.
