The Library offers graduate services to the holders of HKBU-awarded degrees and SCE/SCM-awarded diplomas. Please apply according to your category.

All UIC graduates should contact libcir@hkbu.edu.hk to apply, as the online application option is currently not available to them.

The Library card will normally be ready for collection within 10 working days after the application is received. You will be notified by email to collect the Card at the Main Library. Processed Library Cards will be held for pick-up until the card expires.

b The coverage of e-resources under the Package is more limited than that of current students /staff, and is subject to change from time to time. For details on the list of eligible e-resources, please refer to https://hkbu.libguides.com/az/graduate. Effective January 1, 2025, remote access to ProQuest databases will no longer be available for graduate card holders due to the vendor’s decision to restrict access to current staff and students.

For SCE- or SCM-Awarded Diploma Holders

Download the application form and for the card type, please select “B. External Borrower CardEligible holders of diploma issued by SCE or SCM (1 Year: HK$2,000)“.

  • Passport-size photo
  • Photocopy of your SCE/SCM Diploma certificate (You may present the original certificate if you are applying in-person)
    • If you have not yet received your diploma certificate, you may send us a photocopy of your expired student card.

Important Points to Note Before Applying

  1. The collection of your personal data is solely for the purpose of processing your application. Your provision of personal data is voluntary. However, we cannot process your application if you do not provide us with the information specified in the application form. Please click here for details about the Library’s Privacy Policy.
  2. All fees paid are not refundable under any circumstances. No change to the selected service plan is allowed after an application is processed.
  3. Submission of the completed application form and required supporting documents should be made within 3 months of receipt of the application by the Library. After that, any incomplete application will be discarded accordingly while the payment shall be forfeited to the University. To protect the personal data of applicants, the Library shall also dispose of the application record.
  4. The Library reserves the sole right to reject any new or renewal application by any individual based on his or her past record with the Library, and to maintain that restriction for as long as deemed appropriate by the Library.
  5. Borrowing privileges and access rights to the Library’s e-resources are non-transferable.
  6. All users shall abide by the Library Regulations and the Library’s policy on the Appropriate Use of E-Resources. For details, please refer to the Library’s Policies and Regulations.
  7. All successful applicants, with the exception of those who apply for only the Remote E-resources package, will be issued with library cards, which will be held for pick-up until the card expires. In the case of late card collection, any request to refund the fee or extend the card expiration date will not be entertained.
