Update on use of student e-cards at the Library
Following the introduction of the new HKBU Student e-Card feature in the HKBU Mobile app the University Library has been working to make its service and facilities compatible with the e-Card. Below are details of the current arrangements.
Entrance to the Library
At the Main Library, the Student e-Card may be presented to the duty security guard for manual scanning. This process takes some time, and students are encouraged to bring their physical student cards for easier access to the Main Library.
For the Chinese Medicine Library and the Shek Mun Campus Library, a physical student card is required for entrance.
Borrowing services
The Student e-Card may be used for borrowing materials at the Main Library, Chinese Medicine Library, and the Shek Mun Campus Library.
Postgraduate Study Rooms
A physical student card must be used when checking into the Postgraduate Study Rooms located in the Main Library’s Multimedia Learning Centre.
