What is iThenticate?

iThenticate is a plagiarism detection and prevention platform that helps to ensure the originality of written work prior to submission and publication. The use of this tool assists authors in avoiding accidental misconduct by comparing their manuscripts against a database of 60 billion Web pages and 49 million scholarly works.

What is the difference between iThenticate and Turnitin?

iThenticate is mainly intended for researchers to check their own work. Turnitin is designed to allow faculty to check the work of their students.

Eligibility

Currently, iThenticate accounts are only available to HKBU faculty and staff.

Students that want to check their assignments should make use of Turnitin

Access

Eligible users can access iThenticate via BUniport. The link can be found in the Research section of the Works menu.
