E-book recommendations for Semester 1 courses

11 Aug 2020

In its role as the primary source of scholarly information for the HKBU community, the University Library will endeavor to provide the best support possible for online teaching and learning in the coming semester.

To this end, the Library invites faculty to submit as soon as possible their recommendations for e-book purchases to support their courses.

Please note:

  • To facilitate easy access to information, faculty may request the purchase of an e-book even if the Library already holds a copy of the print version in its collection.
  • The purchase cost will be charged to your Department’s Library book budget.
  • Certain titles may not be available for purchase as e-books. Furthermore, even when an e-book is available for individuals to purchase, some publishers have a policy not to sell certain e-books (often textbooks) to libraries. In such cases the Library will purchase the print version.

Faculty may send their recommendations directly to the Liaison Librarian responsible for their Department. To allow sufficient processing time, please submit your recommendations by 24 August 2020 (Monday).
