The Hongkong Weekly Press was published between 1890 and 1945. This online collection covers issues published during the period 1920-1929 and consists of 15,000 pages available as full-text searchable scans. These primary documents provide insights into the history of Hong Kong during the 1920s, including the strike of 1925-1926.
Published during the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong, The Hongkong News was printed on the abandoned presses of the South China Morning Post. It provides Japan’s unvarnished perspective on East Asian and world news, and will be of great interest to scholars of the period.
Trial access for both of the above resources will expire on 30 November 2021.
