Physical student card required for Library access

The information in this announcement has been superseded.
Please check our latest announcement on the use of the Student e-Card at Library facilities.

Recently the HKBU Mobile app was enhanced with a new HKBU Student e-Card feature. Unfortunately the e-Card is not compatible with the University Library’s turnstiles and other equipment. Therefore, all students are advised that your physical student card is required to access the Library.

We understand that some new students have not yet been able to collect their physical student card. For this group of students only, special access arrangements apply. They may approach the duty security guard (at the Main Library) or duty staff (at branch libraries) in order to enter. Provisions have also been made to allow these students to check out materials. E-cards are also valid identification for the collection of JULAC Cards.

These special arrangements will end on 1 October 2021, as by this date all new students will have had sufficient time to collect their physical student card.

The Library will work with the relevant University offices on making the e-Card usable at our facilities.
