Temporary Closure: Windows and Air-Conditioner Replacement at SCA
Special Collections and Archives (SCA) will be temporarily closed to facilitate essential windows and air-conditioner replacement works. The tentative affected period is from 2 March to 24 April 2026.
All SCA collections, archival materials, and furniture will be temporarily relocated to ensure their safety. From 9 March to 17 April 2026, only book borrowing service for current HKBU staff and students will be available. We are unable to accommodate external visitors during this period.

Service Arrangement during 9 March to 17 April 2026:
- Only book borrowing service is available for HKBU current staff and students by email request.
- Use your HKBU email to send request to: libarc@hkbu.edu.hk
- Include your name, staff/student ID, and book information such as title, author, call number or URL in the email.
- Submit requests at least one working day in advance.
- Only post-1949 publications in good condition are available for borrowing.
- SCA staff will notify you when books are ready for pickup.
Borrowing Terms:
- Loan Period: 14 calendar days
- Pickup Requirements:
- Books must be picked up within 5 days of notification at the User Services counter on Level 3, AML.
- The loan period starts when books are processed, not at pickup time.
- Books not picked up within 5 days will be returned to storage.
- Returns:
- Return books to the User Services Counter on Level 3, AML (do not use the Book Drop).
- Late fines are HK$2 per calendar day.
Important Note:
- All other regular SCA services, including archival materials consultation and viewing; microfilm viewing and printing services will be suspended.
