Section Banner

Current UGC-funded undergraduate users are eligible to apply online for a JULAC Reader Card that allows access to other UGC libraries for reading purposes only.

Expiry

JULAC reader cards expire at the end of each academic year (i.e. on 31 July every year). Students continuing their studies may renew their card in the following academic year.

Fees

A HK$50 processing fee will be charged by every participating library that you visit for each registration and renewal.

Temporary Subsidy Scheme

To facilitate access to other libraries for research purposes during the major renovation of Levels 6 and 7 of the Main Library, a subsidy will be offered by the Library to support undergraduates working on their Honours Projects:

1. Eligible applicants: AY2023/24 final year undergraduate students

2. Application period: 1 August 2023 – 31 March 2024

3. Subsidy amount: Eligible students are entitled to the reimbursement of the HK$50 processing fee charged by one selected library. For avoidance of doubt, the maximum subsidy that each eligible student can receive is HK$50.

4. Application procedure: Eligible students should bring the original processing fee receipt to the User Services Counter of the Main Library and apply in-person.

Renewal and Replacement

Requests to replace lost cards or to renew expired cards should be made in person at the User Services Counter of the Main Library. A replacement fee of HK$50 will be charged in cases where the card has been lost.
