My team and I are responsible for describing library resources for the discovery and access by library users. At present, our major task is to reclass the existing collections using a single classification scheme, i.e. the Library of Congress call numbers. This will collocate similar library materials, and will help students and professors find the materials more conveniently. Apart from serving the HKBU community, we also share our catalogued descriptions to OCLC. This facilitates the description works of librarians from other parts of the world, and will help the information needs of academics internationally.
