Introduction

To better support the research needs of our users, the Library conducted the Library Service Survey 2024 from 18 March to 20 April 2024. The data collected from the survey has been used for our continuous enhancement and improvement.

As part of our ongoing assessment practices, this annual survey helped us understand user feedback regarding our services and facilities. Through these regular evaluations, we continue to align our developments with the University’s strategic plan and the evolving learning and research needs of the HKBU Community.


Highlights of the Library Service Survey 2024 Results


Survey Comments

Of 1,268 respondents, 694 and 949 provided written comments about different aspects of library services in Question 20 [In what areas (s) does the Library need to pay immediate attention to improve our services?] and 21 (Other Comments), representing a response rate of 82% and 75%. There were a total of 842 (Q20) and 392 (Q21) valid entries received and classified into various categories. We were grateful to receive many positive comments from our users about the Library’s services and environment, below are some examples:

  • The staffs are very supportive and friendly, also they always give useful advice.
  • Overall the system of the library management is good. Thank you for maintaining it in a better way.
  • Very good collection of musical score and related materials which is so impressive to me. I think this is the best library with musical materials in HK.
  • Overall is very good and convenient to use I like the ground floor (Level 2) for main campus Library.The design is very Morden and let me very focus for my works.I like the higher table and chair so that when I feel tired I can stand for finish my works.
  • 整體環境舒適,有助提升專注力
  • 圖書館工作人員都很友善及樂於幫助。
  • 感谢提供良好的学习环境和专业的服务!
  • 非常欣賞圖書館舉辦的講座,緊貼最新研究工具的發展,工作人員質素高。例如網上講座的形式很方便,主持得出色。
  • E library 好user friendly, 好多時啲literature review 都可以搵到。(電子圖書館使用便利,多數情況下文獻綜述所需資料皆可找到。)
