Rediscovering Masterpieces: An Exhibition of Nigensha’s Reproductions of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy
Japanese publishing company, Nigensha, has been collaborating with the Taipei National Palace Museum since the 1970s. With their professional printing techniques, they have reproduced precious cultural artifacts in their original size. The clarity and level of detail in these replicas bring a visual impact, making distant mountains, nearby rocks, figures, and small boats appear as if they were the original paintings.
This exhibition showcases over twenty selected paintings and calligraphy pieces from the Library’s art collection. The artworks are categorized by themes such as landscapes, flowers and birds, figures, and court ladies. There is also a dedicated section highlighting the masterpieces of renowned artists, including Wang Xizhi from the Eastern Jin dynasty, Su Shi, a literary figure from the Northern Song dynasty, and Huai Su, a famous calligrapher from the Tang dynasty.
