Abstraction on library: Sketchbook exhibition by Visual Arts students 抽象圖書館：視覺藝術院學生素描展覽

Students in a drawing class were asked the question: ‘What is abstraction?’
Spending some time in the Au Shue Hung Memorial Library, they look for things that attract
them: be the books, space, lighting, texture or the sound; then extract, isolate and maximise.
Afterwards, they express their takes through a series of sketches.
26 sketchbooks are presented, using mediums from pencil, charcoal, watercolours, acrylics and
ink. Through the lens of abstraction, they visualise their versions of a familiar place, providing
other angles to look at the library.

「抽象是甚麼？」
學生來到圖書館裏尋找答案：除了在書本上，還從空間、燈光、質感和聲音的在場體驗，
通過觀察和想象描繪出他們對抽象的理解。
是次展覽展出26份素描作品，當中包括鉛筆、碳筆、水彩、塑膠彩和水墨等媒介。作品
以小書的形式呈現各人對圖書館的獨特印象，並邀請觀眾用不一樣的角度去感受習以為
常的一個地方。
