Contributing to the UN SDGs has been a priority to many organizations nowadays, including HKBU. Learn more about the sustainable facilities, features, and initiatives right here at your University, and how to research scholarly materials and teaching resources on each goal. In collaboration with the Estate Office, this workshop will introduce real examples of sustainability efforts and also the SDG Online database.

This workshop introduces students to the European and American styles of dining.
By the end of the workshop, students should know the names of the plates and utensils used in dining; be familiar with the European and American styles of eating; and be more confident about attending a formal meal.

Participants will master the art of verifying the authenticity of diverse online information, whether textual or visual. Through hands-on activities, participants will apply key techniques, including reverse image searches, exploration of the Wayback Machine, and utilization of AI-related tools.
By the course’s conclusion, participants will possess a robust skill set, enabling them to navigate the information landscape with confidence, and critically evaluate online content. Join us and empower yourself to navigate the digital world with discernment and expertise.

You’ve heard the hype about AI – But how effectively have you been using it in your research process? In this session, we’ll share some tips on how you can use the HKBU GenAI platform to enhance your information searches. We’ll also do a deep dive into Consensus, which is an AI-powered tool designed specifically for academic search. All students have free access to the premium version of Consensus via the Library’s subscription.

This workshop will introduce two major business databases, CSMAR and Factiva, subscribed by HKBU Library that provides financial data. You will learn what data is available and how to effectively navigate the two databases to find what you need.

LinkedIn Learning (LIL) is a leading online learning platform which is available now to all HKBU students, faculty, and staff. Through this online platform, you can explore thousands of video courses taught by industry experts and leaders all in one place.
This workshop will introduce how you can connect your HKBU LinkedIn Learning account to your personal LinkedIn account for a more personalized experience across LinkedIn and LinkedIn Learning.

The IELTS Intensive Speaking Practice Workshop aims to provide ‘intensive’ practice for the three parts of the IELTS speaking tests. Students will be given a detailed demonstration of a good IELTS Speaking test. After that, students will be given a mock test in which they can practice in pairs. Lastly, test tips and other hands-on practice opportunities will be provided during the workshop.
